Friday on My Mind

Hello everyone! My spring break officially starts on this Friday at 2:17, when school gets out. (By the way, I feel SO weird calling it "spring break," I usually just call it "April Vacation.") That being said, I have Friday on my mind. This post doesn't really have a point, actually; I just thought I'd use it as an excuse to tell you guys that I'm excited for a break from school, and that I'd share some pictures with you. These pictures have no real theme; Most of them are from Rookie or Tumblr. If you want a specific source from one just let me know and I can find it. Anyway, enjoy it.

 
  Since I was too lazy to make a playlist and upload it here this morning on my personal computer (mainly because I didn't know what my blogpost would be about), here is another manual one. The Swingin' Sixties

  Yet another one of my sixties themed posts. The sixties were an iconic time for fashion and music, as well as new inspirations and ideas that didn't exist before. I love the sixties more than anything, and I try my hardest to make every one of my outfits based on something sixties-related. Provided below is a playlist of some of my favorite sixties tunes and many sixties songs that I believe define the decade. Note: Most of these images have been used in previous posts; When I post during school hours I'm on my school laptop and don't have too many images to choose from.

Sedmikrásky, a 1966 Czech film. Called Daisies in English-speaking countries. This movie is seen as iconic for 1960's female fashion and ideas.

Mary Quant, probably the most famous fashion designer of the 1960's. She invented the miniskirt and then continued to make iconic mod fashion for both girls and boys.

Peggy Moffitt, one of Mary Quant's most popular models. She is known for her eccentric eye makeup and short, bold haircut. Pattie Boyd is another famous model from Quant.

Talkin' Bout My Generation

  No, this isn't a post on how horrible the 2000's generation is. It's a post on The Who.

  If you're not a classic rock fan, you may be asking, the what? The Who are a British band formed in 1964. They're known for their crazy drummer, silent bassist, their genius guitarist, and their rough and edgy singer. They are also known for their incredibly loud sound, and in May 1976, they played a concert at Charlton Athletic Football Club that was listed as the "Loudest Concert Ever" by the Guinness World Record Book. Their drummer, Keith Moon, passed away in 1978 from a pill overdose, and their bassist, John Entwistle, died in 2002 from a drug overdose as well. But their remaining members, guitarist Pete Townshend and vocalist Roger Daltrey still rock strong.

  I am going to see the remaining members performing as the Who tonight on November 16th, and this is why I have decided to make this post. The Who were mods in their early years, and so this post may be very similar to my mod fashion post. However, this post will mostly just include famous mods from the sixties as well as the band The Who themselves dressed in their mod gear.
